Who stays at ACE Hostel, York?
ACE Hostel receives a wide variety of guests from travellers, couples, locals, party groups, sports groups, schools, universities and individuals from all across the globe. A large number of our guests come from China and the Far East, so we will hopefully be able to get some interviews up from some of our other guests very soon.
School Groups at ACE Hostel:
One of the more regular groups that often stay at ACE York are school groups – many visiting York to see the historical locations, learn about years gone by and visit unique location such as the 15th Century Cathedral: The Minster.
As an all round friendly hostel, we welcome people of all ages and are more than well equipped to offer the facilities for children to enjoy themselves whether it be watching a film in our brand new cinema lounge or enjoying some TV or games in our common lounge area.

Movie Night at ACE Hostel!
Every night is a movie night at ACE Hostel in York. For our three showings at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm we play recent releases on our shiny new Blu-Ray player and nice big TV. The room has space for up to 20 people on big, comfy leather couches. Not only do you get the chance to see top movies, you are also free to browse our list recent releases straight form Love Film.com, or play your choice of DVD and have your own movie night in.
If you fancy some sweets or hot snacks from the bar, we can cater for that – or why not pop down the road to any of the local shops and pick up anything you want, and on the way back pick up a take away? For those of you that just want to laze around in your slippers and dressing gown, you can rustle up your own food and drink in our self catering kitchen.
Refurbished Self-Catering Kitchen For Guests
Despite being sat in the middle Micklegate, one of York's most popular streets for filling up your belly and enjoying a few cold drinks (alcohol optional) takeaways, pubs and restaurants aren't for everyone's pockets or to everyone's taste. With this in mind, we decided to improve the kitchen and replace it with a self catering kitchen, accessible to all. Guests now have access to a suitably sized, clean kitchen with fridge (labelling your food is a must), cooker with hobs, ovens, plus all pots, pans and cutlery. Everyone is entitled to whip out your apron and cook up a feast for them and their party.
Life By The Pool At The Bar In ACE Hostel York
Yes that's right, you heard it here first: we have a pool table in the bar, so now you can play with your favourite balls at the bar. We offer a selection of drinks including John Smith's and Stella 4 on tap, bottled beers including our new guest world beers selection. We're also a good selection of spirits and Liquors. Our comfy, well lit bar is open daily between 7am and 12:30am.
For something to accompany your food, guests can also order a small selection of quick and affordable food options including paninis, sandwiches, nachos and simple vegetarian meals.
Hire Our Function Room:
Do you run a community group? Are you looking for a space for an informal meeting? Would you like to have a relaxed conference? Or even an un -conference somewhere that has rustic appeal and lots of space? Well, you're in luck, and no I'm not a middle aged balding salesman – but seriously, ACE Hostel has a function room at the back of the building on the ground floor which is available to hire.
Our Function room is a versatile space with tea, coffee, water and fresh juice drinks facilities and access to the hostel's guest kitchen if your group enjoys regular catering at your events. The room would be ideal for a relaxed meeting and has a 32 inch LCD TV on the wall for sharing a computer screen and large custom built wooden benches with the full capacity of 40 people.
Small Exhibitions or group training space:
The tables can be moved, making the space open to a variety of uses, including, for example, a small exhibition or showcase, or a versatile space for activities such as Yoga, Pilates or even a space to shoot a quiet, well lit interview or take photographs – the choice is yours.
